2008's Financial Meltdown

Financial Meltdown
It will probably go down in the history books as the most-memorable year for the financial world since the Great Depression. So as many investors thankfully say goodbye to 2008, we decided to take one final look back at the events of the year.

Many Americans lost their homes in 2008. Here, Kim DeNeir cries on the phone while Arvada, Colo. city worker Don Richmond posts a sign that marks her apartment as condemned and illegal for habitation. The DeNeirs were forced to move from the rental apartment they've lived for 20 years, after it was condemned by the city for sewer and rodent problems. The owners of the complex blamed the subprime mortage meltdown for the reduction in maintenance and unpaid bills that led to the property being condemned.
