
Marysol Castro is the weather and features correspondent for ABC News' weekend edition of "Good Morning America."
In this role, Castro brings weekend viewers the latest national weather forecasts from the morning program's Times Square Studios in the heart of midtown Manhattan. In addition, Castro regularly contributes feature reports from around the country and world for both the weekday and weekend editions of the morning broadcast.
Since joining the weekend edition of GMA, Castro has reported from New Orleans for the historic re-opening of the city's street car system after Hurricane Katrina had washed out the entire city. She has traveled to Adventure Aquarium in Camden, New Jersey for the Discovery Channel's Shark Week and has also performed with the cast of Cirque du Soleil's "Delirium." Castro has also traveled in search of the country's best water park and has reported live from the Indy 500, where she interviewed racing fan and star of ABC's "Grey's Anatomy," actor Patrick Dempsy. Castro also traveled to St. Augustine, Florida to join a school which has 32 sets of twins in its small district.
Prior to joining ABC News, Castro was a general assignment reporter for WPIX-TV in New York. From 2000 to 2002, Castro was an anchor and correspondent for News 12 The Bronx.
Castro attended Wesleyan University and also holds a Master's degree from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism. Castro resides in Connecticut with her husband and young son.
