Answer: Any drug can cause an allergic drug reaction. Most reactions to drugs are adverse reactions and they're not allergic in nature. However, again, any drug can cause an allergic drug reaction. The drugs most frequently implicated are antibiotics as well as anticonvulsants. However, drugs that are used during anesthesia can cause adverse drug reactions -- or allergic drug reactions -- as well as any other drug. So, while antibiotics most frequently are the culprit, any drug can induce an allergic drug reaction.
