— -- Question: How effective is play therapy for the treatment of depression in children/adolescents?

Answer: Well you know, clinicians have been using play therapy for the better part of 75 years. And unfortunately despite the fact that it remains quite popular, there's really very little evidence that it's effective for reducing or alleviating depression in either children or adolescents.

Because of that it's not considered to be a evidence-based treatment right now. There are other things that seem to be more effective.
