R.D. Delahanty answers the question: 'Can A Diabetic Use Artificial Sweeteners?'

Answer:Hi Kay. Yes, a diabetic can use artificial sweeteners. If you have type 2 diabetes, the artificial sweeteners can actually help lower your calorie intake and with weight loss. And if you have type 1 diabetes the artificial sweeteners can actually lower your carbohydrate intake and help your blood sugar control. So they are very good to use and they can be used safely, with no problem. Some of them can be used for baking and others can not, so you want to really read about the one you're going to use if you want to bake food or not bake.
