At What Age Should I Start Having My Blood Pressure Checked And How Often Should It Be Done?

Question: At what age should I start having my blood pressure checked, and how often should it be done?

Dr. Hutter answers the question: 'What Age Should I Check Blood Pressure?'

Answer: The blood pressure should be checked at an early age by the pediatrician, and then when you're a teenager, and then certainly when you're an adult. If it's normal, you don't have to check it very often, but if it's high then you need to check it more often in order to be sure that it's always high or not always high-- maybe you're just upset.
