Actress Nicole Kidman brought her star power to Washington, D.C. on Oct. 21, 2009 to testify about global women's issues before the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on International Organizations, Human Rights and Oversight. Kidman, in her role as a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations Development Fund for Women, specifically addressed violence against women.
