"Good Morning America" News Anchor

Chris Cuomo debuted as news anchor of "Good Morning America" in September of 2006.

In this role, Cuomo anchors the regularly scheduled news blocks during the morning broadcast and also contributes various feature and news stories to "GMA." He continues to serve as co-anchor of the evening newsmagazine "Primetime," which he joined in April of 2004.

Since joining "GMA," Cuomo has reported live from the field on various breaking news stories, including Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, the Pennsylvania Amish school shootings and the tragic Sago mine collapse. Cuomo was the only reporter breaking news on the Sago mine collapse on both morning and evening news broadcasts.

In January of 2007, Cuomo traveled to Iraq where he reported live from Baghdad, bringing morning viewers firsthand reports on the latest on the war.

Most recently, Cuomo reported from Virginia Tech on the school shooting massacre in which a student gunman shot and killed 32 people. Cuomo spoke with students and school officials and also co-anchored a special edition of "Primetime" from the school campus.

Cuomo has distinguished himself at ABC News in covering national drug issues, medical insurance scams, prescription drug issues, and various child-related concerns. He was also the network's premiere legal reporter, driving coverage of the network's reporting on the Duke lacrosse scandal.

His reporting and interviewing has been recognized with more than a dozen journalism awards, including the Loeb Award for business reporting as well as multiple Emmy nominations and awards for his reporting on the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Cuomo's "Good Morning America" profile of inspiring 12-year-old poet Mattie Stepanek was recognized with a News Emmy award, making him one of the youngest correspondents to receive this award in network news history.

Prior to joining ABC News, Cuomo was a correspondent for the Fox News Channel and Fox Broadcast Network's "Fox Files," where he reported on a wide range of stories, focusing on controversial social issues. He also served as a political policy analyst for Fox News Channel. Prior to his affiliation with Fox, he made similar appearances on CNBC, MSNBC and CNN.

Cuomo is a licensed attorney. A New York native, he received his law degree from the Fordham University School of Law in New York City, and his undergraduate degree from Yale University. He resides in New York City with his wife and two young children.
